5 reasons to visit Dunsborough, WA

Dunsborough is a special place. Ask anyone who has spent time there and they’ll tell you the same. Located on the south coast in Western Australia, nature is the backdrop to life here. Whether it is relaxing on the picture-perfect beaches or getting out and adventuring, there are natural wonders to be found around every corner. This idyllic place is everything a beach town should be, complete with charming boutiques & eateries, friendly locals, and a laidback vibe that makes you never want to leave.

1. The beaches are incredible

Like, straight-out-of-a-postcard-is-this-even-real incredible. Dunsborough is nestled on the shores of Geographe Bay - the water is calm, clear and 200m from the heart of town. A short 5-minute drive brings you to Cape Naturaliste, home to some of the most awe-inspiring beaches in the whole of Australia. Go for a drive, bring your swimmers, and take your time - views like this are meant to be savoured.

2. The cafe scene is top notch

The most important question when planning a trip: where am I getting my morning coffee?

3. The beautiful hikes (and you can see whales!)

There are heaps of incredible hikes in and around Dunsborough - some of them are even accessible right from town.

For serious hikers there is the famous Cape-To-Cape trail that runs 136km from Dunsborough to Augusta. Or for people seeking a more relaxed experience, head up to the cape and explore the many trails that traverse the stunning coastline.

Whales can be seen close to shore from June - October as they pass on their annual migration.

4. The winery trail

If you haven’t experienced the wine from the Margaret River region yet then you are in for a real treat.

There are 90+ wineries to explore (over 65 of which are rated Halliday 5 star wineries), each with their own unique stories and incredible vistas of wine country, farmland and coast. Why not make a day of it and book a wine tour with the guys at Tannin Road and let them show you around the local way.

5. The outdoor adventures are endless
